Collection: Ann-Marie Chester

Having come from a creative family, being inspired by my late father to explore my passion for art, I studied an art degree at Leeds University (Bretton Hall). Throughout my career as an art teacher, I have continued to inspire and support others to develop in their own art pathway. This may have been for outstanding results in National qualifications, occupational therapy or for individuals’ personal growth.

Being drawn to nature, a safari in Tanzania fuelled my inspiration for my own art work. I aim to describe the structure, texture and form of the animals through drawing. The use of charcoal and chalk captures their hot and dusty environment. I try to depict the animals' reaction to us, whether it’s one of mutual curiosity or of total indifference.

I hope you get the same pleasure viewing my art work that I derive from creating it.
